Vanaf het moment dat ze elkaar ontmoeten, 25 jaar geleden, ontstond er een creatieve en amoureuze klik. Inez van Lamsweerde en Vinoodh Matadin. Deze twee Nederlandse fotografen, werkzaam in New York, hebben inmiddels een groot oeuvre opgebouwd. In het Amsterdamse fotomuseum FOAM is het werk van deze twee invloedrijke fotografen te zien. Pretty much everything, oftewel: zo'n beetje alles.
Last week we visited the preview of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in FOAM Amsterdam. Their work is excellent. Sorted by the magazine American Photo among the 25 world's best contemporary photographers with assignments for Chanel, Luis Vuitton, Gucci, YSL, Balmain, Chloé, Vogue, The New York Times.
Once I was intrigued by a portrait of her, at the Academy of Fine Arts when I had a shadow of a doubt whether I would be suited for photography and film. Her work pulled me through. She is happy with the words, she is happy for me, and she is truly very sweet. Her works of photography appeared in the 8PM Dutch national news NOS Journaal, friday June 25.
